The DJM-V5, announced on 20 January 2026, is the DJM-V10 in a body that fits an ordinary booth: three channels instead of six, the same four-band EQ, the same Send FX section, at €1,999 against flagship money.

The channel count is what people notice and what matters least. Very few DJs use six channels. Almost all of them use EQ constantly, and moving from three bands to four is the single largest change in how a mixer feels under the hands. It gives a separate grip on the low mids, which is where two records usually fight each other, and it is the reason the V10 built the reputation it has. The genuinely new idea is a cross-pass filter sitting alongside the usual low-pass and high-pass on every channel. It reshapes mids and highs while holding onto low-end energy. Anyone who has swept a filter during a transition and watched the floor deflate knows the problem: the conventional filter removes the weight at precisely the moment the weight is doing the work. Six effects come built in, including short delay, reverb, shimmer, tape echo, PingPong and echo-verb. The V5 is also the first AlphaTheta mixer with a built-in SonicLink wireless audio transmitter, and it works with rekordbox over PRO DJ LINK. Before buying, ask the honest question. If you mix mostly with a crossfader and one filter, a cheaper three-band mixer will serve you perfectly well and the money is better spent on monitoring. The V5 is for people who will actually use that fourth band, and for venues that want the flagship sound without rebuilding the booth around it.
