Dekmantel has set its 2027 festival for 29 July to 2 August in the Amsterdamse Bos, the woodland park on the southern edge of Amsterdam, with three-day tickets released ahead of any line-up announcement. The full programme will follow later.
The site explains more about the festival than its bookings do. Holding a festival among trees rather than on open ground changes the physics and the behaviour of the crowd. Foliage absorbs high frequencies and breaks sightlines, so stages feel like clearings instead of arenas. People spread out rather than compressing towards a barrier, and the walk between stages becomes part of the day instead of an interruption to it. Programming that rewards patience works in that setting and would feel thin on a fairground. That is the honest extent of what can be said about 2027 at this stage, and we are not going to assemble a wish list and present it as information. What is reliable is the pattern: long sets, selectors with deep catalogues, live electronics that do not fit neatly into a genre, and a festival week that spills into separate programmes across the city. If you are buying this early, buy the travel at the same time. Amsterdam in high summer fills quickly and prices move faster than the line-up announcements. Leaving a day free on either side is also worth doing, because the smaller city events around the festival regularly produce the best music of the week in rooms a tenth of the size. For anything official, watch the festival's own events page rather than resale platforms. Dates and formats occasionally shift, and the organiser is the only source that will tell you first.
